“Prosperous Pig Figure” was produced by Xu Beihong in 1944. The figure described the harmonious family of three pigs to stand for prosperity and blessing, which expressed Xu Beihong’s feelings at that time. The master Xu Beihong produced few works which used the pig as a theme. His works about pigs are rare and precious, especially the “Prosperous Pig Figure” describing three pigs.

Our corporation has released stamp album with the name of “Morning-glory and Fat Pig” that gathered works produced by Xu Beihong and other masters. Nowadays, our corporation will release the other stamp album with the name of “Prosperous Pig Figure”, in order to spread these excellent arts in 21 century and share it with people all over the world.
The front side of the stamp “Prosperous Pig Figure” describes peony which is known as China’s “national flower” and symbolizes splendor. This idea suits the theme of “Prosperous Pig Figure”.
